R8C/17 I2C Sample Project (Using HEW4 and E8)
Introduction
The purpose of this application note is to provide example serial communication code for the R8C17 device. The application utilises an MBR8C17 board, an E8 debugger and a dual power supply. This board has an external crystal, a power connector, microcontroller connections and an E8 connector. All code was developed using Renesas's High Performance Embedded Workshop 4 (HEW) with the M16C toolchain, Ver 5.30.02. The code was developed on an R8C/17 using the On-Chip Debug functionality via an E8 Emulator. A picture of the MBR8C17 is shown below in figure 1. Figure 1: MBR8C17 board
